Tonight the teachers and staff from our rural school joined together to serve tacos at a benefit dinner. The benefit was for one of our students with a brain tumor. He wasn't able to attend since he was back in the hospital. They are still trying to get all his meds adjusted. He's a great kid with a supportive family and community. The initial estimate was $1800 raised on tacos alone. A 50/50 was also done. During these tough economic times for so many it's great to see this type of support.

It is, indeed, a tribute to your community that such get-togethers benefit those in need. Sending my positive thoughts as well.
